While a lot of Russia Gate was initially nonsense or greatly exaggerated, it now seems that Trump and MAGA are friendly toward Russia which was partially a reaction against Russia Gate. For instance, Tucker Carlson has gone beyond just opposing the war efforts to sounding very pro-Russia and anti-Ukraine. Many MAGA types resent Ukrainians for subsidizing them with US tax dollars but neglect that America exploited Ukraine, sacrificing Ukrainian lives to fulfill a geopolitical objective of weakening Russia.
I am all for Trump negotiating an end to the war, but the question is if he manages to negotiate a fair deal for Ukraine or throws Ukraine under the bus to Putin. While skeptical, I’ll credit Trump if he manages to pull off a good deal. I am not the biggest fan of Zelensky and some of what Trump said to him was true. However, I found Trump and Vance’s decorum, in how they tried to humiliate Zelensky, gross and lacking tact, especially considering that Trump is the leader of the World’s most powerful nation.

The argument against arming Ukraine is that it delays a war that they can’t win. So basically, it harms them by helping them. The counter-argument is that if Ukraine had no military aid, Russia would have steamrolled them. In contrast, arming Israel helps Israel at the expense of the Palestinians because Israel is much more powerful than the Palestinians, while Ukraine is much weaker than Russia. Logistically, the only way that Ukraine could have won is with the involvement of NATO, which could have provoked WWIII with Russia. Regardless, Ukraine’s military has punched way above its weight for its population size.

While Russians are racially European, Putin’s geopolitical framework is at odds with the West. It is ridiculous for pro-White types to support Putin, as Russia has displaced White Christian Ukrainians in occupied territories with Muslim Chechens and Central Asians. Russia’s Third Worldism is a hangover from the Cold War, though Putin is no communist and looks more to the 19th Century Russian Empire for inspiration. I am not anti-Russian, and the broader European global population would be better off if Russia, Europe, and America were friendlier. If America, Europe, and Russia allied, they would be powerful enough to counter and contain China and the Islamic world. However, even if you blame the West for provoking Putin, the damage has been done. There likely won’t be any reconciliation between Europe and Russia, as long as Putin is in power. Trump is trying to mend relations with Russia while circumventing Europe.

Trump is threatening to cut NATO funding to Europe alongside the tariffs on European goods. While it makes sense that Trump is imposing tariffs on China, Trump’s tariffs could alienate allies. It is also ironic that Trump is implementing much harsher tariffs on Canada while cutting Mexico some slack. Trump’s ICE has been detaining citizens from White Western Nations that are close allies, and treating them no differently than migrants from the Third World. For instance, a Canadian actress was detained for 12 days and a German green card holder was detained and tortured by ICE.

MAGA types are attacking Europeans as lazy, Godless, socialists, and ungrateful parasites who mooch off the US, or say that Europeans are inferior to Americans because they have much less GDP growth and no air conditioning. Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, recently said “It’s only because of the United States of America that the French aren’t speaking German right now.” This harkens back to the Bush era when conservatives called the French cheese eating surrender monkeys. There has long been this arrangement where Europe is to America what Athens was to Rome and an understanding that America is an extension of Europe, which both many Americans and Europeans no longer respect.

The big irony is that a large segment of the new right in America supports nationalists in Europe, especially compared to the Bush era. The attitude of the Bush-era conservatives was that European nationalists were anti-American racist socialists or Nazis who didn’t share the same ideals of America, and some of that sentiment still lingers. Regardless, it is a paradigm shift to have Elon Musk supporting the AFD in Germany or JD Vance speaking out against mass migration in Europe. Not to mention that Steve Bannon did something similar during Trump’s first term.

MAGA has this arrogant attitude that they know what is best for Europe and want Europe to become more like Red America rather than just supporting European nationalists while respecting their agency. Vance’s speech directed at Germans was condescending in how he shamed Europeans for committing suicide while gloating about how great America is doing rather than saying that we are in this together. This ignores that America has used European nations as vassal states and has pressured Europeans to let in more immigrants.
The American Right pushes a narrative that Europe is lost demographically and is turning Muslim, so they need Americans to save them as we did in World War II. This was the thesis of the book, America Alone, by neocon Mark Steyn, which came out during the Bush era. In reality, Europe is much stronger demographically than America, with Europe being about 85-90% White while America is down to 58% White.
Even if many MAGA are sympathetic to Euro nationalists, by punishing Europe for being liberal, many nationalist sympathetic Europeans still interpret this as American imperialism screwing over Europe. MAGA pushing nationalism in Europe may also taint nationalism and make it less popular, by associating it with American rightwing politics and Trump and Musk, who are unpopular in Europe. Even many European nationalists are not crazy about Trump. For instance, the inventor of the Great Replacement theory, Renaud Camus, came out against Trump and in favor of Zelensky.

I suspect Trump’s strategy is to destroy Europe’s economy and then hope that brings about a nationalist revolution, which could backfire—either on the US economically or Europe having an anti-American leftist uprising. Regardless, Europe should become more independent of the US for its own good, so America does not dictate its political terms. A counter-argument in favor of Trump is that he may encourage Europeans to free themselves from being vassals of America.
Regardless, Trump is destroying America’s alliances with White democratic nations in Europe, as well as Canada and Australia. Trump is replacing this Western geopolitical order with a more autocratic geopolitical alliance made up of Israel, Saudi Arabia, India, and El Salvador, as well as a softer stance toward Russia. Trump desires autocracy which is more in line with the rightwing of the Third World which explains Trump’s closeness with leaders like El Salvador’s Nayib Bukele and Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Bin Salman. Despite Europe and Canada having hate speech laws, the alliance among Western nations offers checks and balances on civil liberties.

Trump and the Republicans are throwing Ukraine under the bus while massively increasing funding to Israel. This is because Republicans view Israel as sacred as the Holy Land, besides AIPAC lobbying. However, Israel is sort of a hybrid in that in some ways it is Western and White and has a history of democracy while it also has aspects that are very Middle Eastern and is heading in an autocratic direction under Netanyahu. Regardless, these conservatives don’t care as much about their ancestral homeland of Europe. While there is a foreign policy establishment that is pro-Ukraine and pro-Israel, Trump’s rightwing Zionist backers view Ukraine as a distraction from helping Israel contain Iran. In contrast, I can respect the consistent anti-war America First position of Congressman, Thomas Massie, who Trump has spoken out against and wants to be primaried.
The Democrats made Ukraine a huge cause like Black Lives Matter, which annoyed conservatives. However, support for Ukraine became a socially acceptable and liberal coded way to celebrate Whiteness and Europe for White Americans. However, younger non-White Democrats do not care so much about Ukraine because they have no ancestral attachment to Europe. Similarly, you have a lot of non-Whites who have become prominent in rightwing politics, and they don’t have the affinity for Europe that European Americans have. For instance, Indian American populist conservative pundit, Saagar Enjeti, dissed Europe that it is “substantially poorer, more racist, less dynamic, and MUCH less free than the US.” As America becomes less White, America’s ties and obligations to Europe will greatly diminish.

The new rightwing elite backing Trump is more new money and doesn’t have the same attachment to England and Europe as the older Wasp elite. For instance, rightwing Silicon Valley types look more to Asia as the future. I also expect to see the GOP aggressively pushing “Castizo Futurism”, that based rightwing Latinos are the saviors of America. This fits in with a soft power geopolitical strategy toward Latin America, as America will have to be more engaged in enforcing the Monroe Doctrine of keeping China out of Latin America.

The White middle class is the foundation of the West’s free and democratic societies, thus I suspect that the oligarchs backing Trump view Third World immigrants as better for creating an autocratic oligarch run society. However, the question is how much the nationalist and immigration restrictionists backing Trump can hold the line. Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and other rightwing Silicon Valley types are pushing this Asian style grindset culture, which is antithetical to American and European culture and values. For instance, Vivek Ramaswamy openly called White Americans lazy, yet MAGA is shilling for him to be Ohio’s next governor.
Trump is destroying the dream of a pan-European alliance, of uniting the global White population under one geopolitical block. This explains why Richard Spencer turned hard against Trump. White people are fundamentally linked to the West as a geopolitical sphere, which entails liberalism and things like LGBTQ rights. However, Western Civilization means different things to different people and that incoherency is leading to a lot of political problems. Rightwingers are in an awkward bind, as they often share more common values with the Third World than other White nations. Since liberals call Trump a White Supremacist, it would be ironic if he were the one to dismantle Western civilization as a geopolitical block.
