The physique that represents USC’s school voted on Wednesday to censure the college’s president, Carol Folt, and provost, Andrew Guzman, citing each leaders’ mishandling of occasions round graduation.
Within the USC Tutorial Senate’s vote, 21 members favored censuring the president and provost, seven opposed, and 6 abstained.
The vote adopted a virtually three-hour assembly during which school members criticized selections by Folt and Guzman, together with the selection to rescind valedictorian Asna Tabassum‘s talking slot at graduation; the cancellation of the main-stage graduation ceremony; and the posture of directors towards pro-Palestinian protesters on campus, together with the arrest by Los Angeles police of 93 protesters, most of whom have been college students.
The decision voted on by school cited “widespread dissatisfaction and concern among the many school about administrative actions and selections” by Folt and Guzman.
