American journalist Evan Gershkovich of the Wall Road Journal will quickly stand trial within the Russian metropolis of Yekaterinburg on expenses of spying for the CIA, Russian authorities stated Thursday, after saying that that they had finalized an indictment.
Gershkovich was arrested in March 2023 whereas on a reporting journey in Yekaterinburg and accused of espionage. Gershkovich, the journal and U.S. officers have repeatedly rejected the costs as baseless.
