Hamas is not going to release the hostages without some kind of deal.
Obviously, it’s hard to ever know how much relevance to put in any particular statement Donald Trump makes, but what he is communicating here, for whatever it is worth, is that he will demand Hamas release all of the hostages with no deal or he will send in the US military or do some other massive escalation.
It is certainly still the attitude Trump has, as we’ve seen with his Ukraine talk, that America can do anything it wants, make any demand, and the rest of the world just has to go along with it.
But there is no way Hamas is just going to release the hostages because Trump ordered them to.

US President-elect Donald Trump has warned that there will be “all hell to pay in the Middle East” if Hamas does not release its remaining Israeli hostages before he assumes office. Trump has pressed both Israel and the Palestinian militants to end their conflict before his inauguration.
”Everybody is talking about the hostages who are being held so violently, inhumanely, and against the will of the entire World, in the Middle East,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform on Monday.
The incoming president then declared that “if the hostages are not released prior to January 20, 2025, the date that I proudly assume Office as President of the United States, there will be ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East, and for those in charge who perpetrated these atrocities against Humanity.”“Those responsible will be hit harder than anybody has been hit in the long and storied History of the United States of America,” he concluded.
I know people are hopeful that Trump is going to do MAGA for real this time (because real MAGA has never been tried), but I’m certain this is all just going to be Zionism. Obviously, my certainty can’t be transferred to you if the current evidence is not enough for you, but we’re all going to see soon enough.
Also, I want to say: there are people claiming “well, Trump was just as Zionist in 2016.” First, that simply is not true. Trump totally went against Israel by destroying ISIS, he really only aided Israel minimally. Second, 2016 was before October 7th, before Trump made some kind of deal to get a fair election if he committed to loyalty to Israel.
The people saying “this is nothing new” are just wrong. The situation with Trump and the Jews is 100x more extreme than it was in the first term.
Again: there’s no point in arguing. I’m either right or wrong and we’ll all know soon.
