It’s a big weekend for both Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, so NBC’s Sunday Night Football dug into the numbers for a statistical comparison of the A-list couple.
“Karma is the numbers on the screen ✨,” SNF posted via Instagram on Friday, December 6. “Long live Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, which comes [to] an end Sunday in Vancouver while Kelce plays in Kansas City.”
Swift, 34, has the first of her final three Eras Tour shows at Vancouver’s BC Place on Friday night, before the tour — which started in March 2023, before the singer and Kelce, 35, were even a couple — officially wraps up on Sunday, December 8.
Kelce, meanwhile, will be in Kansas City on Sunday night when his Chiefs host the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.
In a graphic titled “The Taylor and Travis Era,” Sunday Night Football analyzed the accomplishments of the couple since Swift’s tour began.
During that time period, Kelce has 168 catches, which leads all tight ends since the start of the 2023 season. Kelce’s next touchdown will set the all-time Chiefs record for receiving touchdowns, breaking a tie with Chiefs legend Tony Gonzalez, which could happen while Swift is preparing to hit the stage for the last time in Vancouver.
Swift, for comparison’s sake, has played 152 Eras Tour shows across five continents during that same time period.
Kelce has amassed 1,621 receiving yards in the time frame, and moved to third on the all-time list for tight ends in the process. For the record, he is currently 3,162 yards behind Gonzalez’s record in first place. He trails former Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten for second place by 1,081 yards.
The Eras Tour has earned more than $2 billion in ticket sales since it started, with more than 11 million tickets sold.
Not to be outdone, of course, Kelce took home his second consecutive Super Bowl ring, and third overall, in February. During a break from her tour, Swift was able to join Kelce on the field to celebrate after the big win.
Kelce and the Chiefs are currently trying to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls. They look to improve to 12-1 on the season when their Sunday Night Football battle with the Chargers kicks off at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
The comment section of the Sunday Night Football post was, predictably, a mess.
“It’s hilarious how NBC made this post thinking people wouldn’t be mad,” one person wrote. Another said, “Her stuff doesn’t have to do with Travis playing ball 🤦🏾♂️.”
Despite some obvious discontent, plenty of Swift fans also showed up in the comments to drown out the noise.
“i love these stats lol i also love how uncomfortable it makes the brads and chads,” one comment read. “Thanks for sharing.”
