Sister Wives Season 19 debuted and it sure seems Kody Brown and Robyn Brown are looking like the main villains in nearly every scene we’ve seen on TLC.
Sister Wives Episode 1: Kody Brown Looks Bad – Like a Villain
In the season premiere, titled “A House Divided Cannot Stand,” it’s clear that the Brown family is in shambles. Christine Brown runs into Kody Brown and Robyn Brown at Mykelti’s baby sprinkle.
Christine wants nothing to do with Kody or his last remaining wife. Kody seems jealous that Christine has moved on and is doing well. Meanwhile, he and Robyn are struggling. And Robyn admits their marriage is at its worst point ever.
She says Kody doesn’t know who to blame – himself or the other Sister Wives. But let’s be real, there’s no way Robyn Brown will take any responsibility for the family’s problems.
Kody is playing the victim on Sister Wives, asking what he did to deserve this “family civil war.” But fans know exactly what he did. He treated Meri Brown horribly, denied Christine intimacy, and was awful to Janelle Brown and her kids during COVID.
Time and time again, Kody Brown chose Robyn and her children over everyone else. And get this – Kody even says Janelle and Christine intentionally exclude him to punish him. After everything we’ve seen in recent Sister Wives seasons, that seems preposterous.
Robyn Brown – The Idiot Left Behind – Also a Villain?
Meanwhile, Robyn calls herself “the idiot left behind” as the other wives move on. She probably felt pretty good about herself when she snagged Kody as the younger fourth wife. But now that no one else wants him, he may not seem like such a catch anymore.
But here’s where things get really dark on Sister Wives. Janelle and Kody’s son, Garrison Brown, took his own life earlier this year, as you know. In a recent interview, Kody said his one regret is not spending more time with Garrison.
It’s heartbreaking, especially since Kody rejected Garrison and his brother Gabe during the pandemic for not following his crazy strict rules. And then there’s the bombshell Mykelti Brown dropped on Patreon about Robyn Brown.
It turns out she cut Robyn out of her life. And it was over something that happened at Garrison’s funeral involving Robyn. Mykelti has always been super supportive of Robyn, so this is a big deal.
What Did Robyn Do? Sister Wives Funeral Antics?
Sister Wives fans have lots of theories about what Robyn Brown did to upset Mykelti. Maybe she wanted priority seating. Or it may be about not bringing her youngest kids to the funeral – which could be seen as disrespectful.
Or maybe Robyn Brown said something insensitive about Garrison’s death. Some think Robyn has main character syndrome and couldn’t handle not being the center of attention at the funeral.
It’s unclear how much of Garrison’s story will be included in season 19. Hopefully, the funeral won’t be filmed. But one thing’s for sure – Kody Brown and last wife Robyn are either the real villains this season or TLC is giving them the villain edit.
This Sister Wives season may be the most difficult to watch yet. Robyn’s been trying to talk Kody down as he seems to spiral out and play the blame game among other antics.
