Justin Hartley didn’t wait long before reuniting with wife Sofia Pernas on his hit CBS series Tracker.
The network released promotional stills from an upcoming episode titled “Bloodlines” where Pernas, 35, returns as Billie to help Hartley’s character, Colter, with a case.
“Colter and rival rewardist Billie Matalon team up to find a missing high school baseball star,” reads the synopsis for the episode, which airs Sunday, October 27. Photos from the onscreen reunion show Billie and Colter on the road as they look for clues — and in one instance, they’re seen smiling at each other.
Before Colter and Billie cross paths again, however, his brother Russell (Jensen Ackles) will come back to save him from an unknown situation.
“When Colter suddenly disappears during his search for a missing father, Reenie recruits his brother, Russell, for help,” reads the logline for the October 20 episode, according to the CBS press website.
Tracker, which premiered in February, is centered around a survivalist named Colter who travels the country helping people and law enforcement tackle a variety of mysteries. As the series unfolds, viewers learn more about how Colter’s past shaped his current life as a lone wolf.
The procedural is based on Jeffery Deaver’s novel The Never Game. Hartley, 47, not only stars in the show but also serves as an executive producer alongside This Is Us producer and director Ken Olin. Hartley’s role behind the scenes has allowed him to surprise fans with exciting guest stars — including his wife.
“Oh, she’s the best and such a talent,” Hartley told TV Insider in September about reuniting with Pernas in season 2. “She comes in and she just delivers and brings so much more to it than is on the pages.”
Hartley said he couldn’t be more thankful to share the screen with Pernas, adding, “It’s just been a blessing having her and then also I get to spend time with her! It’s my favorite days in the world when I get to work with her.”
Before Tracker returned with more episodes, Hartley teased what fans could expect from her character’s season 2 arc.
“She calls on [my character] Colter because she needs his help for something,” he revealed. “And of course, he’s like, ‘You need my help, huh?’ It’s that kind of thing, like, ‘Well, OK, then ask for it. I’ll help you. You got to ask me.’ That kind of thing.”
Hartley first worked with Pernas on The Young and The Restless in 2015. Years later, they reconnected off screen and exchanged vows in 2021. Along with Tracker, they collaborated on the short-lived Quantum Leap reboot.
“She’s wonderful. I mean, if I had my choice, I’d spend every minute with her,” Hartley gushed to Us Weekly in July. “What’s really cool is when you meet someone that means so much to you, that you’re so proud to be with and so proud of, and just such a fan of, and to get to see her work, because she’s such a talented actor. She elevates scenes, and so it makes my job easier, actually. But yeah, it’s just wonderful to work with her.”
Tracker returns to CBS on Sunday, October 13, at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Paramount+.
