Apart from big-name signings for the first team, Manchester United under INEOS have also focussed heavily on academy recruitment this past summer.
The Red Devils signed the likes of James Overy, Samuel Lusale and Chido Obi-Martin to name a few but the deals required clearance from the FA and the Premier League.
After a long wait, former Crystal Palace academy star Lusale has finally received the all-clear and is set to join the United academy.
The 17-year-old broke the news on his social media, and thanked the Eagles and their fans for their love and support over the years.
Lusale confirms Palace departure
“My journey with Crystal Palace comes to an end and a new door opens. I will always remember the memories I made at Palace, and without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. But now, we move on to the next chapter.”
The Slovakia U18 international can play out wide and as an attacking midfielder and the team from London were keen to keep a hold of him but Lusale rejected a scholarship offer in favour of a move to Old Trafford.
Not only Lusale but also Overy has also received his clearances as per The Manchester Evening News journalist Steven Railston.
“James Overy and Samuel Lusale have officially joined United. Looking forward to seeing them in action for the academy, along with Chido Obi-Martin when that’s signed off.”
Overy also receives the all-clear
Overy is a right-back by trade and was previously a part of Perth Glory in Australia before he came over to England and spent time with non-league outfit Newton Abbot Spurs while trialling with various Premier League sides.

Newton Abbot Spurs coach Marc Revell had described him as being, “Tenacious, aggressive going forward and very skilful with a great technique.”
Both players are slated to join up with United’s all-conquering U18 side but are expected to move up quickly to the reserve level.
There is no timescale regarding when Obi-Martin will receive his clearances. Fans are excited to see what the former Arsenal youth prodigy can offer but it seems they will have to wait a little longer.
