The Americans want to pass some kind of British-style law that makes it a crime of some sort to do deepfake nudes.
It’s not clear how this would be pushed under American law. It doesn’t really make any sense. In the UK, they can just make shit up, but in America, there remains a kind of framework for what is legal, and a cartoon picture cannot be illegal (unless of course the government outlawed obscenity again, which they’re not going to do because it’s a feminist country).

It’s the latest example of how the use of artificial intelligence to create or manipulate images with sexual content has become a concern, including within school settings.
U.S. law enforcement has been cracking down on graphic depictions of computer-generated children as well as manipulated photos of real ones. The Justice Department says it’s pursuing those who exploit AI tools and states are racing to enact laws to address the problem.

They are trying to make laws, but how can they make these laws? What is the core legal argument here? These are not real images, so it’s not “child porn” anymore than those Japanese loli cartoons.

As part of the police investigation into what the Lancaster Country Day School describes as “disturbing AI generated photographs,” a search warrant was used this summer to obtain an iPhone 11 linked to a 15-year-old, according to court records. The records do not identify the teen.A woman told police that her daughter said a fellow student had been “taking photographs of students and using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to portray the female juvenile students as being nude,” according to a probable cause affidavit used to apply for the search warrant.
Wouldn’t it be easier to teach girls not to be upset by these images? Why are they even upset? This should be an opportunity for women. In the future, if they get caught doing real porn, they can just say it’s AI. It creates a free pass for women to do porn.

Basically, this is the same thing as when the Jews say “we need to crack down on child porn and hate speech.” Everyone seems to understand what they’re doing there: they’re claiming that criticism of the Jews needs to be equated to child porn.
In making this huge fiasco over AI porn – which really does not matter at all – they are getting an “in” to undermine the public’s ability to freely use AI.
Governments have figured out that the open source AI is going to be at least as good as the closed source censored garbage, so they want to get an ability to restrict its use, and the best way to do that is to create laws to “protect the children.”
People call me a pervert for saying it’s not a big deal if people are doing deepfake porn of underage girls. I don’t really know how to respond to that other than: “Shut the fuck up you whining, emotional little baby. You fucking faggot moralfag, shut up. I’m not defending “child porn.” Deepfakes are not child porn anymore than someone getting killed in a movie is “murder.” It’s not real porn. The entire opposition to child porn was that the girls were being abused, and no one is being abused if someone makes a cartoon of them. Teenagers have been drawing nude pictures of their classmates since the invention of pencils, and they’ve been using photoshop for decades.
I don’t support any porn. I have consistently lobbied for a reintroduction of obscenity laws in America and elsewhere. I think it should all be banned. So don’t tell me I’m defending it. I’m just telling you, this is not about protecting the emotions of teenage girls. If you believe that, you are literally a retarded baby. This is about restricting the use of AI, because the last thing the government wants is for the peasantry to have full access to the AI tools that the government and corporations are planning to use against us.
