Lasting love. Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka have defied Hollywood odds with their long-lasting marriage.
The actors met after they had been each on Broadway, with Harris in Cabaret and Burtka in Gypsy. Burtka was in one other relationship on the time, and infrequently commuted to Los Angeles to see his then-boyfriend.
“I didn’t wish to be that man who was creating some type of romantic interference,” Harris defined to Out in 2012. “So, I used to be all the time round when he was round, hoping the celebrities would align. Once we all frolicked for the primary time — I used to be invited by [mutual friend] Kate to an American Idol viewing get together — I simply stammered round him. I couldn’t take my eyes off him.”
The twosome started relationship in 2004 and Harris publicly got here out as homosexual two years later. The pair expanded their household in October 2010, welcoming fraternal twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace through surrogate. Harris and Burtka secretly tied the knot in 2014 with solely 45 visitors in attendance.
