On Married At First Sight, Michelle Tomblin can’t hide her disappointment after saying “I do” when David admits he still lives at home and occasionally lights up a cigarette. Ikechi Ojore provides live entertainment at his reception with Emem Obot. Allen Slovick is extremely happy with all of wife Madison Myers‘s assets. And Juan Franco gives a cringe freestyle performance for new bride Karla. Time to unpack it all in this recap of Season 18, Episode 3 Did Y’all Meet My Husband.
Married At First Sight: Michelle Tomblin Melts Down Over David’s Living Situation
On Married At First Sight, Michelle Tomblin was all smiles at the aisle when she said “I do” to her match David. But her mood changed shortly after when he made some cringey confessions. Over champagne he let it slip that he enjoys a cigarette now and then socially. Michelle doesn’t hesitate to tell him she considers that gross. He suggests he won’t let it get in the way of the marriage and will try to cut it down to vapes and then quit entirely.
But it’s the next confession that really pushes her over the edge. He admits he still lives at home with his parents. And this comes after his family referred to him as a “mama’s boy”. Michelle Tomblin is visibly shaken after hearing this. David doesn’t seem concerned. Instead, he compliments her blonde hair, blue eyes and good looks. While they dance at the reception, she tells him her first impression of him was that he looked like a genie. But apparently not one that made her wishes come true.
Later during the reception on Married At First Sight, Michelle Tomblin seeks refuge with her friends in the ladies room. She tells them she’s having a breakdown. And it’s the living at home with his parents that has her upset. She’s fixated on it. They suggest she give it time and not pass judgement until she finds out more about the situation. And give him props for having strong family bonds that might explain the situation in a different light. Michelle Tomblin admits to David she’s overwhelmed. And they do share the hotel room later.
MAFS Couples Party at Wedding Receptions
Rounding out this post-wedding Married At First Sight episode, the couples pose for photos, drink, dance and meet each other’s friends and families. For some, it’s just pleasant small talk. For others it borders a little on interrogation with a healthy side of judgement. Camille Parson‘s friends are a little surprised when her husband Thomas McDonald admits he was unfaithful in a long-term relationship.
Madison Myers tells Allen’s friends that she’s impressed with his chivalry. She admits physical attraction is important but that it’s made up of different things. She suggests she wasn’t always beautiful. And that people assume she is “snooty”. Ikechi Ojore takes things to another level by bringing in his favorite musicians to serenade Emem Obot. Karla continues her flirty, unicorn vibe where money doesn’t matter, and she can get through any situation by just manifesting it in the clouds. Juan admits he’s a bit more organized and routine.
Married At First Sight: The Couples Hunker down for Their First Night
It’s time for our MAFS couples to go to their respective hotel rooms. And the obligatory scene of each groom assisting the bride out of her dress. The couples sip champagne and discuss matters such as who sleeps naked. And if cuddling is allowed. Juan Franco whips out a guitar and attempts a cheesy ode to Karla, who swoons and admits she usually sleeps naked. And tells Juan he’s free to sleep unfettered as well.
Michelle is still feeling a bit overwhelmed on Married At First Sight. David lets his hair down (literally) and she is ok with him sharing the bed on this first night. Madison Myers is a little tipsy. And Allen Slovick is anxious for production to leave. Although it seems that most of the couples opted for a night of sleep instead of anything more. Till next time!
