Atletico Madrid are interested in Marcus Rashford but financial concerns may hinder their pursuit, as per reports.
Rashford has fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim, who has snubbed the Englishman from his recent matchday squads.
The 27-year-old, who scored the first goal of the Amorim era at United, hasn’t featured for the Red Devils since he was taken off early in the second half against Viktoria Plzen on December 12.
As things stand, it seems United are looking to get rid of their academy product. However, they are struggling to find a suitor, owing to financial difficulties.
After a prolific campaign under Erik ten Hag, Rashford signed a deal until 2028 with United and became one of the highest paid players in Europe, reportedly taking home more than £300,000 a week.
According to Fichajes, Atletico and Barcelona have explored the possibility of signing the England international.
However, his form as well as his lucrative contract at Old Trafford are “holding back any move.” As per Capology, he earns £ 19,500,000 per year, including bonuses.
On his day, Rashford, who scored 30 goals across all competitions during the 2022/23 campaign, is one of the most electric wingers in Europe, capable of making the headlines with his pace and incredible ball-striking ability.
The La Liga race is very tight this season, with only three points separating Atletico and third-placed Barca. A player like Rashford is capable of making the difference come the end of the season,
However, it is suggested that both Spanish giants aren’t in the best of financial situations to take a gamble on the United superstar.
The Spanish outlet adds that Saudi Arabia and Turkey are appearing as Rashford’s potential destinations. However, at this stage of his career, such moves might not be very appealing for him.
Meanwhile, Atletico have been linked with another United forward. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming the Madrid based club are targeting Alejandro Garnacho.
