Manchester United have released six “key takeaways” from the recently held Fans’ Forum.
The meeting was reconvened for the second time this season on Monday 16 December.
The Fans’ Forum is an excellent initiative that amplifies the voices of supporters, providing a crucial platform for them to express their opinions, share concerns, and engage directly with United’s executives.
Initially dismissed as a token gesture by the club, its perception has evolved significantly over time.
Earlier today, United confirmed that they sat down with fan representatives to deliberate on operational matters that affect supporters on matchday.
These issues that were discussed include ticketing policing and concessions, season-ticket renewals, redevelopment of Old Trafford, charity contributions and fan engagement initiatives.
Ticket pricing and concessions in particular have been a thorny issue in recent times although United have seemingly not budged on this.
Here are the six key takeaways from the Fan Forum:
- Ticket concessions remain in place for cup fixtures and season tickets forwarded to United Members. Concessions will only be removed from unsold or returned tickets for confirmed non-balloted games (three per cent) in addition to seats cancelled by Season-Ticket holders prior to games.
- A dedicated European away collections sub-group will be formed to review ticket distribution and credit options for 2025/26.
- Season-Ticket renewal communications, including deadlines and pricing, will be issued following consultation with fan bodies in the new year.
- Stadium findings from the mass fan survey, focus groups and town halls have been submitted to the Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force to inform the options report to the board and owners. Fans will have further opportunities to input into the project as it progresses.
- United supporters have raised over £310,000 already this season for Manchester United Foundation via Season-Ticket donations, and over £1.5 million since the scheme began; thank you for helping to support young people from disadvantaged areas across Greater Manchester.
- We’ve introduced new fan activations at Leigh Sports Village for Women’s Super League home weekend games; Junior fans can have a pre-match kickabout on a 3G pitch, try their luck against Fred the Red in a half-time penalty shootout, and apply for post-match player meet and greets.

The next Fan Forum will be held in March 2025.

United are currently facing a challenging period, with three losses in their last four Premier League matches. The Red Devils have been beaten by Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth in that period, having beaten Manchester City at the Etihad last weekend.
Ruben Amorim’s men currently lie in 13th position in the Premier League standings, having gained just 22 points from a possible 51.
United are nine points adrift of Nottingham Forest, who are fourth.
The 20-time English champions return to action on Boxing Day when they make their way to Molineux Stadium to take on a resurgent Wolverhampton Wanderers.
