Manchester United could miss out on former Chelsea and Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel, who is reportedly in talks over potentially taking over the England national team job.
Erik ten Hag’s future as United boss is up in the air amidst United’s extremely poor start to the season.
The Red Devils currently lie in 14th place in the Premier League, with just eight points to their name. United have also won just two of their opening seven Premier League fixtures.
Ten Hag faces a crucial period ahead after the club’s winless run extended to five matches, following the stalemate with Aston Villa last weekend.
It has been suggested that a change in the dugout could be made soon if United’s performances and results don’t drastically improve.
A number of options have been mooted including Gareth Southgate, Thomas Frank, Graham Potter and of course, Tuchel.
The Peoples Person covered a report which stated that United were “lining up” Tuchel as Ten Hag’s replacement.
It was subsequently revealed that Tuchel is the “favourite” to land the job, with the German coach believed to be open to the opportunity after failed negotiations in the summer.
However, the 20-time English champions may miss out on Tuchel if a fresh update provided by BILD journalist Christian Falk is anything to go by.
According to Falk, “Thomas Tuchel is negotiating for the position as national coach of England.”

At the moment, England only have an interim manager in Lee Carsley. Southgate left the role after losing to Spain in the Euro 2024 final and since then, the Three Lions have been on the hunt for a permanent boss.
If they secure Tuchel’s services, United’s list of potential Ten Hag replacements will shrink even more, potentially leaving Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the new leadership team in a tough spot.
