The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Division on Thursday arrested a 15-year-old boy suspected of attempting to carjack a sheriff’s deputy as a mob of individuals at an unlawful road takeover attacked his patrol automotive.
The teenager, who was not recognized as a result of he’s a minor, was arrested at his residence in Highland and was booked on the San Bernardino County Juvenile Corridor on suspicion of tried carjacking and vandalism, based on an announcement from the division.
The alleged incident occurred shortly after midnight Could 11 throughout an unlawful road takeover at Victoria and Highland avenues within the metropolis of Highland. The division mentioned a deputy was at a crimson mild close to the intersection when a big crowd swarmed his patrol automotive and started kicking and punching it. Detectives later recognized the boy and executed an arrest warrant at his residence on Thursday.
The deputy was not injured within the assault. The incident stays beneath investigation.
