Conservative lawyer George Conway supplied a damning evaluation of the present GOP amid mounting authorized woes for former President Donald Trump, saying the celebration is “gone,” “must principally be destroyed” and is definitely “destroying itself.”
“I don’t suppose there’s any manner that it may be repaired and I feel Trump goes to take them down,” Conway, a longtime critic of the previous president, stated on the most recent episode of The Bulwark’s “Beg to Differ” podcast.
Republicans had “addicted themselves” To Trump’s lies like crack, he argued.
“They dwell off of those lies, the conservative media earnings off of those lies, the political consultants revenue off of those lies,” he continued. “The congressmen principally make a residing promoting lies to the American folks for contributions and funding, they’re lining their pockets or offering for his or her requirements of life by their PACs and no matter.”
“There’s no manner out, as a result of they principally locked in a sure variety of folks to those lies,” Conway added. “Finally, you’re going to finish up with a core of the celebration that form of eats itself up, and the remainder of the celebration is simply going to fall off and grow to be impartial to the extent it hasn’t already.”
