Manchester United boss Thomas Frank could not handle the Manchester United dressing room according to a player in the squad.
The Brentford manager is reportedly on a “three-man shortlist” to replace Erik ten Hag should he be sacked.
The Dane has been coach at the Gtech Community Stadium since 2018 and guided the side from the Championship to the Premier League.
The Bees have solidified themselves as a Premier League regular under Frank and have finished in 12th, 9th and 16th in their three full seasons in the top division.
He has also impressed many by his tactical flexibility and his ability to get the most out of numerous players to compete with teams on far richer budgets and historically much bigger sides than Brentford on a regular basis.
Nonetheless, former Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchinson told BBC5 Live Sport that he was told by a current United player that Frank could not possibly manage this group of players.
He claimed, “I won’t name names, but I said it to a Man United player about two weeks ago, and we were chatting, who do you think? (to take over from Ten Hag) , and I said Thomas Frank.”
“And he said to me, he said that the dressing room will eat him alive”.
Hutchinson claimed that he retorted, “well that’s your problem. There’s your problem straight away. If you’re not accepting a manager and a coach like Thomas Frank, who would get you organised, because that’s what you can see as a fan.”
The BBC pundit later went on to claim that the most important thing fans want to see is their team being organised. He questioned whether the current group of United players are really “running for the badge”.

United’s players do have history with downing tools and both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick felt the effects of a dressing room who had stopped believing towards the end of both managers’ tenure.
If what Hutchinson is saying is true, not many fans will likely be sympathetic with the players as they are the ones that are currently 14th in the Premier League with a negative goal difference. They are therefore hardly in a position to demand they that are too good for a certain manager.
