Days of Our Lives sees Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) is completely in the dark about Philip Kiriakis‘ (John-Paul Lavoisier) fraud and Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) hiding it with him, but it’s not too long until things blow up. And poor Xander is completely and utterly crushed by this betrayal.
Days of Our Lives: Xander’s Impending Discovery of Philip’s Fraud
So there was already one near miss this week when Philip and Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) were whispering about the dirty secret she’s keeping for him, that his surrogate mom, Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel), forged that letter that’s supposedly from Victor. Xander was kind of walking by.
And then he heard them being shady, so he stopped and he listened and he overheard them. And he assumes Philip and Stephanie are betraying Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) in some other way, some personal way. It sounded to him like Philip and Stephanie were talking about an affair and not a forgery. I mean, at this point, Xander has no reason to suspect that Philip’s letter wasn’t legit.
So we got to ask, how will Xander find out that Philip lied and Sarah helped cover it up? Every time that Philip gets a call at the Titan offices and starts blabbing to somebody about the forgery. I keep expecting Xander to walk in and catch him because Philip’s always got his back to the door on Days of our Lives. And I mean, that’s the way that Sarah caught him. You’d think he’d move the desk or his chair.

But something big also shifted this week in Salem that might explain an alternate method that Xander gets the truth for his brother’s betrayal. If you remember, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) eavesdropped on Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) at the pub. And EJ is furious that Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and Kate told Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) his origin story. EJ doesn’t think Johnny deserved the unwarranted guilt that he’s feeling for being the product of rape. And Kate tried to play it off, she made excuses, they wound up arguing.
EJ didn’t buy it. And he promised to make her pay. And he even threatened her kids, and Kate kind of scoffed until EJ landed on Philip and said he would target her favorite child, and of course that sent Kate into a panic and kind of a fit of rage because she knows Philip has something big to keep hidden right now, something to lose, something that could send him to prison.

And of course, EJ is utterly relentless and as we know, without a moral compass. And it’s not like Philip is an innocent guy and has never done bad before. Not only did he frame Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) for murder a couple of years ago while he was trying to win over Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), you know, now Philip has gotten himself tangled up in this mess that Vivian’s created when she forged that letter.
So Kate is right to be worried. And I can see EJ digging in, using all of his resources to dig up some dirt on Philip on Days of our Lives. And of course, there’s a mountain of dirt to be found right now. Sarah knows about the forged letter. And so does Stephanie, Philip, Kate. And of course, Vivian, the one who created it.
I think that’s everybody that knows. And knowing that Kate and Vivian despise each other, EJ might dig into Vivian’s activities when she was in town and hanging out with Philip as a possible source of information. And I don’t think that Vivian would intentionally reveal anything that would hurt Philip, but Vivian does like to brag, so she might have said something to one of her cellmates in Statesville prison.

So we’ll see if Xander overhears somebody whispering about the forgery, or EJ gets the info and brings it to Xander’s attention, or Philip’s fraud could come out another way, but we know he’s going to find out. And once Xander does, he is going to lose it. And it’s not just about him being angry, it’s about him being hurt because not only has his beloved Sarah been keeping this from him.
But Xander has really opened up his life and his home and his heart to Philip. And you know, on the inside, below the muscles, the hairy chest. And all the bravado, Xander’s like a little kid with a big heart who just wants to be loved. Now, he can be scary and all that, but you know, at his middle, he’s just you know, he’s fluffy on the inside.

And Xander really enjoys working with Philip. And he appreciates this brotherly bond they’re building. What’s surprising and fun to watch is that Philip feels the same way about Xander at this point. Not only does Philip not want his forgery revealed because he doesn’t want to lose his job or the company or go to prison. But also, he doesn’t want to lose this new close relationship with Xander. And as we heard him say, Philip’s not exactly close with his pile of half-siblings, so this reveal is going to hit a lot of people hard and not just Xander.
So no matter how he finds out, whether it’s overhearing or EJ dropping the bombshell to expose Philip to punish Kate, you know, it’s going to be messy. And I’ve heard from my leaker that the big Philip forgery reveal is going to come out in May sweeps. And then after Xander’s angry and devastated at the liars in his life, he’s going to cut ties with Philip and of course fire him.
Days of Our Lives: Will Xander Forgive Philip and Sarah?
And Xander’s going to separate from Sarah despite her being the love of his life because this betrayal just hits him so deep and so hard and it just destroys Xander. But then by the fall, like September, October, my leak says that Philip trudges back to Salem looking for forgiveness from his brother Xander. Ain’t that sweet? My source says Philip wants to repair what he broke because he truly cares about Xander as a brother.
And more info from my leaker says that after Philip works hard to convince him and you know, asks for a chance to prove himself that Xander is very generous and forgives him because let’s face it, Xander wants that close sibling bond too. And from there, the leak says Philip starts working on Xander to get him to forgive Sarah as well and put their marriage back together.

And at the point of Philip’s return, my source said Sarah and Xander remain separated and have been since May. So I’m sure that Sarah has probably apologized and tried to reconcile with him during this time, but according to the source, Xander doesn’t give that forgiveness.
And of course, this is all going to be hard on Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) because she truly sees Xander as a son. And she really admires how loving and thoughtful he is to Sarah and how good their marriage is now that he’s truly mostly 93% reformed. Of course, given all of Xander’s past bad antics, you know, locking women in cages, etc., some people might think that this is karma for Xander to be betrayed like this.
Certainly, Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) wouldn’t feel bad for him, and others may think he deserves it. But for me, I adore Xander. And I am not looking forward to seeing just how hard this betrayal by Philip and Sarah hits him, and I don’t want to see Xander devastated like this. And he and Sarah are one of my personal favorite couples, and I enjoy Philip, he’s fun. John-Paul Lavoisier makes the funniest faces, so we’re going to see a lot more of that soon when the crisis emerges.
