A court has ordered an end to a nationwide labor strike in Israel following public outrage over the deaths of six hostages in Hamas’ October 7 terror attack. The strike, initiated this morning by Israel’s largest union to press for a Gaza cease-fire deal, must cease, the court ruled.
The move to pressure Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu comes amid widespread grief and anger, with tens of thousands protesting across Israel after the bodies, including that of Israeli-American Hersh Goldberg-Polin, were discovered. Today, a funeral will be held for Goldberg-Polin and fellow hostage Carmel Gat, along with others found dead in a Rafah tunnel: Eden Yerushalmi, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi, and Master Sgt. Ori Danino.
