TAIPEI, Taiwan — China despatched dozens of warplanes “absolutely loaded with stay ammunition” and several other navy destroyers and frigates throughout Taiwan and its outlying islands on Thursday, launching large-scale navy drills as “punishment for separatist acts” after the inauguration of Taiwan’s new president, Lai Ching-te.
They had been simulating strikes on “excessive worth ‘enemy’ targets” in navy drills that run via Friday, in line with Chinese language state broadcaster CCTV.
