Manchester United are reportedly still interested in goalkeeping sensation Zion Suzuki but they will face competition from Bayern Munich to secure his services in the summer.
Suzuki has had an incredible rise to prominence in recent months. He first gained attention in the summer of 2023 amidst heavy links to United.
The Red Devils were on the hunt for a replacement for David de Gea and Suzuki fit the profile of the kind of goalkeeper Erik ten Hag wanted, a modern shot-stopper with the ability to play with the ball at his feet.
Needless to say, a transfer never got over the line and United ended up signing Andre Onana instead. Meanwhile, Suzuki left Urawa Reds for Sint-Truiden in Belgian, initially joining on loan before the transfer was made permanent in the winter. Last summer, he got another move, this time to Serie A outfit Parma.
Parma forked out around €7.5 million to land Suzuki.
He has been a revelation at Parma, where is currently the undisputed starter. So far this season, he has started 17 top-flight matches, keeping two clean sheets in the process.
It appears that his performances have once again caught the attention of United.
According to Japan-based journalist Marco Molla, “Zion Suzuki is still on Machester United’s radar.”
“He was close enough to make a video call with Erik ten Hag in the summer of 2023, but he plays for Parma now.”
“Bayern is also interested in Suzuki so the race will happen with United next summer.”

It has been suggested that Ruben Amorim is keen on acquiring quality competition for Onana and Suzuki would certainly do so.
The Red Devils could also be left short in the goalkeeping department if Altay Bayindir departs the club, although his agent recently revealed that his wish is to stay at Old Trafford.
