For practically a decade, authorities say, an unknown vandal shattered home windows and windshields on North Enid Avenue in Azusa.
The weapon of selection: a slingshot.
After studying of the “high quality of life” downside on the 900 block of the road, the Azusa Police Division’s Directed Enforcement Unit launched an investigation into the incidents and served search warrants all through the neighborhood.
“Dozens of residents had been being victimized by a serial slingshot shooter,” the police stated in a press release.
On Thursday, police arrested a suspect: 81-year-old Prince King of Azusa. Authorities say they discovered ball bearings and a slingshot in his residence and imagine he vandalized his neighbors’ property.
It was not instantly clear what the motive might need been, or when police launched their investigation.
King is being held at Males’s Central Jail, custody information present. He’s scheduled to seem in courtroom Tuesday.
