“Ukrainian” is a creole language. Specifically, it is Russia mixed with Polish. Its use was very limited before the US went into the Ukraine in 2014. Notably, Vladimir Zelensky could not speak it before he ran for president.
Forcing people to speak this goofy bastard poor people gibberish would be like if in the Civil War, the generals of the South started forcing everyone to speak French creole, even though none of the generals themselves spoke the language before the war broke out.
Forcing this on the population was part of a program by the US government to attempt to draw some kind of distinction between Russians and “Ukraine people,” and also gave a way to target people who identified strongly with Russia as those people refused to speak this peasant gibberish.
RT:
Ukraine is facing a slowdown in carrying out its language policy, Taras Kremen, the country’s language commissioner, has said. Posting on his official website, Kremen raised concerns about the declining use of the Ukrainian language in public life, especially among the younger generation.“Unfortunately, this year has shown signs of a slowdown in Ukrainization,” Kremen said. According to him, only 37% of students speak Ukrainian with friends, and just 39% use it at home. He also noted a 10% drop in students preferring Ukrainian online.
…
The state language law, which has been in effect since 2019, significantly impacts the use of Russian, which 29.6% of Ukrainians identified as their native language in the last and only census, conducted in 2001. Under the law, Russian has been systematically phased out of schools, media, and official communications. Businesses and public institutions face fines for failing to conduct operations in Ukrainian.
This is sort of what happens in America, when people get all excited about “current thing” – BLM/virus/Ukraine/etc. – and then forget it over a period of months.
The Ukraine government was maybe more brutal in enforcing their dictates since all opposition media is totally illegal, whereas in America it is only de facto illegal.
I spent nearly a year in the Ukraine and I don’t know what the Ukraine language is. Well, I know what it is, but I’ve never heard it. I think you would have to go to some rural village in Galicia to hear it before 2014.

– Kiev is a Russian speaking city
– The decision to attack the Russian language was wrong

Young people in the Ukraine probably do not have much interest in any of this bullshit the US is feeding them, save the promise of being able to move to Western Europe, which they can already do if they’re a woman (half of the men already escaped as well).
No one wants a “Ukraine identity.” Manufacturing fake identities is virtually impossible, which is why most propaganda tries to attach itself to existing identities. The same people upset about the Ukrainians not becoming “Ukraine people” are mad that more kids are not trannies. It’s basically the same thing.
