Manchester United loanees Sonny Aljofree and Rhys Bennett faced off against each other as Fleetwood Town and Accrington Stanley shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Highbury Stadium.
The Accrington defender Aljofree made a massive contribution, scoring his second goal of the season.
The goal came in the 32nd minute of play when he cut inside onto his left foot and delivered a teasing ball into the penalty area.
Miraculously, nobody got a touch on the ball, and it drifted into the bottom right-hand corner of the net to give his side the lead.
The 19 year old once again played all 90 minutes, receiving a 7.3 from Sofascore for his night’s work.
Apart from scoring, he contributed defensively, making ten clearances in the match and a total of three tackles.
He won four of his eight aerial battles and three of his seven ground duels.
Aljofree also completed 14 out of his 19 passes for an accuracy of 74%.
Fleetwood’s Bennett also made a big contribution to the match, making a last-ditch intervention on the goal line.
While Aljofree’s loan has been plain-sailing, already playing 16 times for the Owd Reds, Bennett has had to be patient to get his turn in the starting lineup.
Nonetheless, he proved his worth with an impressive goal-line clearance in the first half.
Sofascore gave him a rating of 6.7 as he made five clearances and a total of two tackles in the match.
He was also strong in his duels, winning five out of seven ground ones and one out of three aerial battles.
Bennett also took care of the ball well, completing 40 out of his 49 passes.
Aljofree will next be in action when Accrington Stanley hosts Salford City on Saturday and Bennett when Fleetwood travels to Barrow on the same day.
