Victoria Jackson, the 65-year-old former “Saturday Night Live” star, remains positive despite a recent diagnosis of inoperable cancer. Jackson, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, shared that her condition has worsened, but she is not letting fear overshadow her spirit.
In a recent interview with People magazine, Jackson revealed that the support from her family has been instrumental in her coping process. “My two daughters and my four grandchildren came over this weekend and asked if I was sad or scared,” she said. “I thought, ‘Well, I’m not sad. … Why am I not sad?’”
Jackson explained that her engagement in her family’s lives keeps her spirits high. “I video every day of my daughter’s life and attend every one of my grandchildren’s events, like tap dance recitals and acting shows,” she noted.
The comedian was informed of her latest cancer diagnosis on her 65th birthday, August 2. Reflecting on the news, she admitted, “I was like, ‘Oh, OK. Well, that makes sense.’ How can you catch every molecule? I’m not great with science or math, but I had expected it might come back. I kind of forgot about it for nine years.”
Jackson, who first detected her cancer in 2015 while performing stand-up, underwent chemotherapy for Stage 3C breast cancer that had spread to multiple lymph nodes. Despite the recent setback, her resilience and determination remain strong.
