DALIAN, China — Chinese language Premier Li Qiang on Tuesday defended the nation’s technological growth whereas criticizing efforts to limit world cooperation.
His remarks, on the opening of the World Financial Discussion board’s “Summer time Davos” assembly in Dalian, China, got here amid rising tensions with the EU over imports of Chinese language electrical automobiles.
“The fast rise of China’s new industries is rooted in our distinctive comparative benefits,” Li mentioned through an official English translation of his Mandarin-language remarks.
He famous the nation’s giant market, industrial community, labor power, various software eventualities and receptive shoppers.
“That’s how China’s rising industries get their competitiveness,” Li mentioned.
Earlier this month, the EU introduced plans for tariffs on imports of Chinese language electrical automobiles. The U.S. has mentioned it is going to elevate duties on the autos to 100%.
China and the EU have reportedly agreed to debate the potential tariffs.
