BOGOTÁ, Colombia — Colombian President Gustavo Petro introduced Wednesday that his authorities will droop diplomatic relations with Israel, its longtime protection ally, making Colombia the most important nation to sever ties amid the conflict in Gaza.
Petro, Colombia’s first leftist president, described Israel’s authorities and president as “genocidal.”
“If Palestine dies, humanity dies, and we received’t let it die,” Petro mentioned throughout a Staff’ Day celebration within the packed Plaza de Bolívar within the nation’s capital.
